Paula Fletcher – Lawyer and Mediator
Paula graduated from Southern Cross University with a Bachelor of Legal and Justice Studies majoring in Social Justice and Human Rights and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 2006.
Paula works predominantly in the area of Family Lawyer.
In addition to her Family Law practice Paula drafts Wills, Powers of Attorney and Enduring Guardianship documents and can advise on and attend to probate and administration of deceased estates.
Paula is also a Mediator Nationally Accredited with AIFLAM and in this role assists people to try to mediate an outcome for their families after separation, both in property and disputes over children.
Paula is a qualified Independent Children’s Lawyer enabling her to be appointed by the Court and Legal Aid NSW to represent the interests of children in Family Law Matters.
In 2007 Paula commenced working for accredited Family Law Specialist Julie Ferguson at GJ Legal in Ballina and was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in February 2008. Paula joined the team at Universal Law in April 2011 .
Paula’s area of expertise is Family Law and she has solid experience with matters involving separation and divorce, property settlements after the breakdown of marriages or defacto relationships, issues with regard to children following family breakdown and child support agreements.
Wherever possible, Paula seeks to resolve matters by way of negotiation in order for her clients to avoid the financial and emotional stress of lengthy court proceedings. Where court proceedings do become necessary, Paula is committed to seeking the best possible outcomes for her clients.
Paula welcomes both private clients and those eligible for grants from Legal Aid NSW for Family Law matters.
