How Much Does a Conveyancing Matter Cost?
For a ‘standard sale or purchase’ conveyance matter we charge $1,485.00 with a one time sundries charge of $110.00 on both of these charges. In addition, you will pay for the disbursements at cost so whatever it costs us to obtain the required searches is what we charge you, usually amounts between $275 to $550. A ‘standard sale or purchase’ conveyance does NOT include work such as help with a First Home Owners Grant. We charge for additional work at an hourly rate of $330.00. (Prices quoted include GST).
Can I drop in and have you witness my signature?
If you are needing a JP signature, you are welcome to stop by our Mullumbimby office during business hours and see Sonja, who is a Justice of the Peace. There is no charge for this service. If you are needing a solicitor to witness your signature, please call in advance and arrange a convenient time. There is no charge for this service unless it is necessary for the solicitor to provide legal advice for what you are signing. If you are needing a Public Notary to witness your documents, please call to make an appointment with Cameron Bell, our principal. It is best to allow as much notice as possible as he is often in Court. There is a charge for this service based on which documents are needing to be notarised. Public Notary appointments are only available from our Mullumbimby office.
What if I can’t pay my bill?
We know that it can be difficult to keep up with paying bills. We will work with you to find a payment plan that works for both of us so that you can be relieved of the burden of having an unpaid account dragging you down.
I just need you to…it will take five minutes. How much will it cost?
In most instances, getting advice from a lawyer will require an appointment. They do not give out free advice over the phone. Depending on the type of matter you have, initial consultations are generally a set fee of $220.00, which is less than an hourly rate. These appointments can be over the phone or in person. For phone appointments, we will require payment prior to the appointment.
Do you offer ‘no win no pay’ representation?
No.
I’ve been injured because someone else wasn’t careful. Can you help?
Personal injury is one of the few areas of law that we do not cover.
